Who We Are
“Our mission is to support faith-based organizations, churches and residents in New York City through dedicated community initiatives that focus on the strengths and assets of under-resourced and overlooked communities.”
We are a family of initiatives focused on appreciating and affirming the gifts of older adults in East Harlem, and others who are under-recognized and overlooked in our neighborhood.
Our Initiatives
There are already as many older adults in our neighborhood as the total school aged population. However there is very little cross over. We want to connect 16-18 year old high school students with older adults living within 10 minutes walking distance from their school campuses.
As part of our commitment to recognizing the gifts and abilities of people who are under-recognized and overlooked in East Harlem we are establishing an artist program to facilitate creative partnerships and individual self-expression.
Cycling Without Age NYC raises awareness and support for active seniors living through relationship building and community events. Specially designed three-wheeled bikes take seniors on excursions through green spaces.
